The Concord Fund. Any nation, any society scales or significant jobs are impossible without the ideal of concord. The Lithuanian nation has survived in its history way because it managed to unite in crucial moments, not to split up With the help of developing self-respect, mutual understanding, positive thinking, spreading joyful ideas and hopefully looking at the future we want to support the idea of concord, we want it to reach the remotest parts of our home- land and greatest cities of the world. Our aim is to bring Concord like a message – Concord among cultures, religions, nations, generations, different society levels and to everybody’s heart.

The Concord Fund is a social charity organization. Its aim is to accumulate means and to financially support personal and collective activities, which unite the nation, the society and spread the ideas of concord and tolerance.

Activity principles
The fund activities are based on the Constitution of the Lithuanian Republic, laws and regulations of the Concord Fund.
The fund is founded on a personal initiative. Its founder is Julius Kazėnas, but the decisions are made by the board of the Concord Fund, whose members are famous cultural and public men, supporters.

The Concord Order
The highest evaluation, which the Concord Fund gives for certain jobs done for the sake of Concord is the Concord Order “Pro augenda Concordia” – “For Concord fostering” (till 2001 it was a Concord bonus).The Concord Order is annually given to a person or a collective for significant activities, uniting the nation and the society. The Fund board selects the candidates to get the order.

Activity directions
The main direction of the Fund activities is to support scientific, cultural, art and other social creative projects.
As the residence of the Fund is not in the capital, but in the provinces, in Panevezys, great attention is given to cultural programs from small towns, provinces and regions in order to develop self-respect and civic awareness.
The priority sphere is projects devoted for children and youth, which promote mutual understanding, tolerance, sympathy and help for those, who need it, which propagate citizenship, solidarity and a healthy way of life.
The fund actively collaborates with foreign embassies, organizes international activities and projects.

Long-term projects

“Cultural and poetry Word”
Poetry and musical evenings, meetings with artists, exhibitions are organized, cultural projects are supported.

“Small towns”
Famous writers musicians, public men visit remote small towns. New creative works are presented, discussions, literary evenings take place, where famous people who come from these places, arrive. Libraries, schools are presented with various editions, the necessary equipment.

“Concord, Tolerance, Love”
The Republican writing competition for students, which is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science.
The Salons of Citizen Concord
A direct TV program in Aukštaitijas regional television. Famous Lithuanian and foreign public men, ambassadors take part in its discussions.

“Be happy if you helped your friend”
Meetings with writers, artists, leaders of publishing houses are arranged. Then they spread various editions, organize games and the money gathered, also some editions are given to village school libraries. Besides, this money is used to buy some gymnasium equipment, teaching materials.

International competitions
International children fashion shows, competitions of young designers and models stimulate children’s self-expression, mutual understanding, collaboration, which give a possibility to communicate, to get acquainted, to make friends with children of different nations.

“Sports for children”
Meetings with sportsmen, sports veterans, coaches are organized. They edit cards devoted for various sports branches, organize competitions, lotteries, where children can win various sports equipment, bicycles. Children are stimulated to lead a healthy way of life, to do sports. About 120 sportsmen and coaches have contributed to this program, about 250 schools and kindergartens took part in it. The program is devoted to prepare for the Olympic Games in Athens.

The fashion studio of the Concord Fund
The fashion studio supported by the Fund, contributes to aesthetical development of children, especially of those living in the provinces and participates in the Concord Fund activities.

Who can contribute to the Fund activities?
Everybody, paying no attention to nationality, age, language, education, religion and social status, is invited to participate in the Concord Fund activities. All supporters are written into the Concord Book. People who are the greatest supporters are invited to become members of the Fund board, participate in the Fund activities, are mentioned and advertised in the Fund editions. People who have especially distinguished themselves are given the name of a Patron of the Fund. They are presented with the Symbol of the Concord Fund – a White Angel.
